Mary Murray, M.A. leads MEMconsultants, providing specialized consulting services in planning and program evaluation for youth and family serving organizations committed to achieving remarkable program results. Clients typically contract with MEMconsultants for the following reasons:

  • Experienced program staff have an innate sense that their programs work, but would like to identify realistic strategies for making them even more effective and efficient
  • A funder requires increased program evaluation, but program managers do not have the time or expertise to dedicate to this mandate
  • The Executive Director and Board recognize that a quality evaluation report can help raise awareness about their programs, which in turn leads to increased community and financial support
  • Organizational leaders would benefit from a strategic plan for strengthening programs through prioritized integration of best practices and organizational capacity building actions

Prior to her return to the Pacific Northwest and founding of MEMconsultants, Mary held a senior management role at the Illinois Violence Prevention Authority; there she created and managed systems of capacity-building to over five hundred grantees, including school districts, law enforcement agencies, and community-based agencies working to prevent family violence.  While earning a M.A. in Community and Prevention Research from the University of Illinois, Mary provided program evaluation consultation to a variety of community-based organizations.  Mary began her career with Teach for America, an organization that addresses the inequities facing children growing up in low-income areas by providing them with excellent teachers; she served as a special education teacher in rural North Carolina.  Mary also holds a B.A. in Psychology from Haverford College.
